This has got to be one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE videos about teaching math. While it is quite exaggerated I think that we can all remember a time when we felt this way... "Maybe if I speak louder or slower, they will get it." I never get tired of this one.
What a funny video, Rebecca! I know you teach elementary students, but I can imagine showing this clip to high school students at the beginning of the year and asking them for a response about their past experiences with math and which methods have helped them learn best. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Naomi! I actually saw this for the first time in a math methods graduate class and it brought all of my memories of 12 years of math class bubbling to the surface. I think your high school students would love it!
This is one of my favorite videos! I have definitely had days that I felt like the teacher.
